AP’s Online Video Network Launches Local Content Component
NAB, Las Vegas – With its initial year growth reaching 45 million unduplicated unique visitors, AP has completed beta testing and today announced the next phase of its Online Video Network (OVN), which is based on MSN technology. The release of the local contribution module enables AP OVN affiliates to leverage AP breaking news video and national advertising sales managed by Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions. In addition, affiliates can add local video and generate revenue from local advertisers.
“Affiliates can now add their own content, maintaining full editorial control and more than twice the current advertising revenue share” said Robert Aitken, Product Manager, Broadcast. “We’re also very excited because the potential of having 1,600 affiliates contributing local news content positions us very well for syndication, another new feature which is part of our product expansion plan for this summer. This will create what we believe to be the essential online video news exchange.”
Powered by MSN technology and featuring exclusive AP content produced specifically for the Web, the Online Video Network provides high-quality, in-depth reports from the world’s largest newsgathering agency. The AP’s Online Video Network reaches 45 million unduplicated unique visitors and receives over 200 million page views per month.
