Associated Press and Avid Improve Newsroom Workflow Integration and Support
WASHINGTON, D.C., – Associated Press/ENPS today announced that the Associated Press (AP) and Avid Technology, Inc. are jointly testing their newsroom products in efforts to validate MOS integration workflows and improve interoperability for customers using the AP ENPS newsroom production system and Avid® newsroom solutions. This will enable customers who have invested in both Avid and AP solutions to leverage their existing infrastructure investments and develop an end-to-end newsroom workflow. Over the years, both companies have coordinated and cooperated on integration and MOS interchange standards involving newsroom workflows. This new agreement will increase cooperation to ensure that joint solutions better meet the needs of customers.
"This deeper level of cooperation allows both companies to develop, test, and verify interoperation of ENPS and Avid Products within both of our respective QA and testing labs," said Michael Palmer, AP’s director of ENPS design and integration strategy.
Both companies have agreed to also share summary test results with each other and their customers to help streamline the process of integration.
Scott Blair, product manager of news automation at Avid said,"We are excited that this increased openness between Avid and ENPS creates greater interoperability and an even more reliable MOS integration between our products, which will ultimately improve efficiencies in the newsroom for our customers."
