Organizing by region to
better serve you

regionsThe AP editorial process is being realigned to improve the way we report, edit and deliver the news beginning in May with the launch of regional hubs.

The goal is to provide members with more stories-faster, by coordinating coverage across an entire region. Between the bureau and the new regional desk, members will have 24/7 coverage.

We'll start with the South Desk in Atlanta covering 13 states and DC. Philadelphia will follow as the East region hub later this year and then we'll roll out Central and West by the end of 2009.

Monetize Your Video with New Syndication Feature

With the latest updates to AP’s Online Video Network (OVN), making money with your own local video couldn’t be easier. OVN has launched a new “syndication” camerafeature. You’ll now be able to take the local video you’ve uploaded to your site’s player and share it with the rest of the network — that’s over 1,800 TV, radio and newspaper Web sites. You’ll also be able to include video from other members in your own player.

When your video is played on another site, you get a share of the ad revenue. If you play another station’s video on your site, you also get a percentage of revenue. It’s win-win. The syndication tool makes it easy to protect your valuable video assets by creating rules to control where your video appears.
